Artist's Statement |
| |
I draw my inspiration largely from an unseen world.
I left teaching art in public high school in order to pursue a life
to be lived in images. I believe
art creates a portal into and from other realms of consciousness—a bridge to
where we have been and where we aspire to travel.
I try to create art that reveals
something of the mystery which underlies existence.
My influences have been many and varied, from Ancient Egyptian,
Indian, and Native American to Pre-Raphaelite.
I was largely self-taught but subsequently pursued the appropriate
degrees to be licensed, certified and registered.
My heritage is English, Native American and ancient Celtic, I
have a profound love for all of my bloodlines.
A childhood affinity with animals and plants has strongly influenced
my artwork. My paintings reflect
a path of on-going healing, an escape from a troubled world, and the hope of
a new paradigm to come. |
